מִיכָאֵל · Who is like God?
That question has been the quiet engine behind everything I've built.
The answer is no one. But the longer I've sat with that truth, the more it's changed how I see people — especially women. If no one is like God, and every one of us is made in His image, then every woman carries something unrepeatable. A way of hearing Him. A way of reflecting Him. A way of leading and building and loving that belongs to no one else.
Most women I encounter have never been given permission to believe that about themselves.
That's what this is for.
Who is Michael?
My name is Michael Kubai. I'm a Worship Pastor at Renewal Church Nairobi, a Strengths Coach, and a communicator. The thread underneath all of it is this: I help women connect intimately with God — and live from that place of intimacy. Not a generic version of faith. Not someone else's blueprint. Their own — shaped by how God specifically made them.
I've built MIKHAEL.AFRICA as a home for that work. Brand U is where the coaching lives. MIDPOINT is where the reflection and conversations happen. And there's more being built. But it all starts here, with this conviction: your uniqueness is not a liability. It is your assignment.
A Word on Why a Man Does This Work
I want to name this directly, because you may be wondering.
I coach female Christian business leaders. I'm a man. And I don't take that lightly.
What I've come to understand is that my role is never to tell a woman who she is — it's to create the conditions for her to discover and name that for herself. My work is facilitative, not prescriptive. I bring tools, questions, and a framework rooted in Scripture and in the way God has genuinely wired each person. The woman brings herself. That's where the real work happens.
I've also been shaped significantly by the women in my life — in ministry, in leadership, in my own family. I don't come to this work as an outsider looking in. I come as someone who has watched what happens when a woman steps fully into who God made her to be — and has built a space to help more women get there.
If you've worked with a coach before and felt like the process was about fitting you into a framework — this is different. The framework exists to serve you, not the other way around.
My Journey
I didn't plan to end up here. But looking back, I can see the thread clearly.
I've always believed that our strengths aren't random — they're divine clues. The things that feel most natural to you, the moments where time disappears and something in you comes alive — those aren't accidents. They're architecture. God builds people on purpose, and the shape He builds them in matters.
I learned this most personally in a season I didn't expect to be defining: discerning whether to pursue the woman who is now my wife. It was quiet and prayerful and, at times, disorienting. Logic had a ceiling. What I needed wasn't more information — it was discernment. I had to learn to hear God not as a concept I agreed with, but as a living, guiding presence I could actually follow.
What came wasn't a lightning bolt. It was a settled, quiet peace — the kind that only arrives when you've made genuine room for His voice.
That season shaped my marriage. More than that, it shaped my calling. It showed me that intimacy with God doesn't just comfort you — it clarifies you. It gives you the courage to move, the roots to hold steady, and the self-knowledge to lead well. That's the kind of life I now help women build.
The Work
Everything I do flows from that same place. It takes different forms depending on who I'm with.
Worship Leadership: At Renewal Church Nairobi, I serve as Worship Pastor — building a team who are both excellent and deeply rooted, and creating worship environments where God's presence is genuinely welcomed, not just performed.
Brand U: My coaching practice for female Christian business leaders. Brand U is where I walk alongside women to discover how God has uniquely wired them — and lead, contribute, and show up fully from that place. It has its own space, its own voice, and its own community. → Explore Brand U
MIDPOINT: A space I co-create with two other women — honest, unhurried conversations, with God and each other, at the intersection of faith, womanhood, and real life. MIDPOINT is where we slow down long enough to process what we're all moving through. → Find MIDPOINT
Writing & Speaking I write from reflection and revelation — on hearing God in the everyday, living from your strengths, and navigating seasons of change well. I also speak into spaces where those conversations need to happen.
There's more being built here — a communication agency that helps organisations align their voice with their values. In its own time.
What Shapes Me
A few things that are true of me, wherever I show up:
I believe in unhurried presence — that the most important work rarely happens in a hurry. I'm most alive when I offer connection before solutions. I value depth over hype, clarity over clutter, and authenticity over performance. I lead by Psalm 1 — rooted, steady, quietly fruitful. And I see leadership not only as a platform but as a responsibility: to develop, disciple, and genuinely uplift the people in my world.
You’re in the Right Place
If you're a female Christian business leader who is ready to stop leading from a borrowed version of yourself — to get clear on how God has actually wired you, and to build your life and work from that foundation — there's a place here for you.
It's called Brand U. And it was built with you in mind.
